Born in Iceland, raised in Denmark. Moved to Iceland at age 21
First band in elementary school
Lost his father to cancer. Funeral in Iceland
Competed and won Músiktilraunir
Just came off Iceland Airwaves promotional tour. Started out with a sore throat
Sounded like a thirteen year old asking out a girl
It always has a personal aspect to it. I keep it simple
My relationship with music has been intimate. I kept it for myself. It was very personal
Me and my friend started a band back in elementary school
I´m so thankful the internet wasn´t really there. Theres a lot of lyrics you don´t want to get out there
I got into poetry pretty early.
My parents were good at sending us to Iceland twice a year.
Agent Fresco, it started as an instrumental band
They contacted him prior to Músiktilraunir
I feel like I struck something magical with these guys.
It was an outlet and a whole lot of fun
We had no idea what we were doing (on winning Músiktilraunir)
I only had two weeks to write 3 songs.
Two years I said “All in or nothing”
Fail or succeed but try it! Since then i´ve worked on music.
The name came before I came into the band. I had nothing to do with it.
Two year period where we told lies, different stories every time someone asked them about it.
Name was meant to be an alias. We found a perfect name
No major label, no money for bands unless you´re doing cover or sessions.
If you´re doing music, it´s because you want to.
I´m a product of that myself (on Icelandic Music)
We don´t get a lot of foreign bands, so it´s limited.
There´s something about people writing brilliant music and not promoting it or playing
There are so many brilliant bands out there that will never be heard
We´ve been working on the album for 3-4 years
We played every weekend everywhere. We´re not a band that practices.
The energy and the crowd was amazing (on Roskilde)
We set the band to be “No comfort zone”
It was kind of mindblowing when i finished the first album (for my father)
All the songs are experiences from when i lost my father and moments that had an influence on me
Their all taken exactly at the time when they happened. A cycle of a day.
It doesn´t help the pain of having lost someone you love. But it´s such a mind blowing way to pay tribute
You´re getting deeper into it….
This album was focused on anger and it really messed me up.
It affected my relationship, with the band and family
I feel like i´m doing something good. I love music.
Perform as much as possible
The real training is out there. You need to make mistakes.
