I always had this dream.
None of its been easy
I finally got a series regular on Bloodline but it took 25 years to get that.
I thought I was gonna be a pro athlete and then get discovered and asked to act
I got hurt when i was little so I couldn´t play hockey anymore
It´s what happens to the family when the black sheep in the family returns
I was asked to audition a year ago
The role called for Long haired skinny tattooed guy. I´m none of those
I didn´t want to move away from my kids
I was very loose in the audition. I didn´t care about the end result
I connected with the character and understood what I wanted to do. It worked
Because I was relaxed I was able to enjoy it
Figuring out how he dressed (on Bloodline)
The big thing was the Irish accent (on Sons of Anarchy)
For Gone Girl you knew you were a CSI guy. You didn´t get the sides until you were there. 10 min prep.
Someone turned me on to In the Name of the Father
I learned from Daniel Day Lewis accent and adapted it
Jersey is a tough state.
I bury my head in the wall and cry a lot.
You just struggle through it
small recurring role that led to a bigger storyline
That was a big career change for me (Sons of Anarchy)
I was a big fan of Tommy Flanagan from BraveHeart
“Are you a real Irish? ” Tommy
“No i´m from Jersey.” Jamie
“Is the accent alright? ” Jamie
“its EFFIN spot on” Tommy
If theres anything else you can do in your life and be happy …DO IT!
This is a very difficult business.
I trust my instinct. I don´t over think or over analyze!
When you´re not working. Dealing with the in-between time.
